Putting back the slightly damaged interstate and discovered the back trunk support to be bent ,left side up right side down. Secured a replacement part but I would like to keep the locks functional so replacing the old locks on the newer support is what is needed. As anyone tried this before ? there does not seem to be an easy solution as just unbolt, nor riveting
thanks.

Not exactly sure what you are asking. You should be able to remove the bolt that secures the locks onto the cross bar and put them on the new bar. I had to replace mine about 10 years ago and I remember using an allen wrench to remove the locks.

There should be allen screws inside that cross tube. To access then the rubber plugs on the back side need removed.

the allen srews attach the cross bar on both sides of the frame rails not the locks themselves, there are no bolts on the locks to secure them to the cross bar but a round nipple that looks as an anchor
