I'm want to replace the fog lights in my is with LED bulbs. Looking at the Pod construction I am not sure which is the best way to access the bulb. I was also thinking since I have the Pod down that I would change the spark plugs on my bike.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or any pictures, on the best way to achieve either one of these goals?ppl

The bulb is accessed through the backing plate on the light housing, you will need to remove the light from the brackets that mount it to the crashbar, should be about 6 small phillips screws that hold on the back plate to the housing.

The led are a much cleaner color and less energy  I think they add to the visibility of the bike as you have 2 different kinds of light for cars to see

If my alternator ever grenades on a trip, after charging the battery or putting in one of those compact booster chargers, you can pull the headlight plug and still get great light from the pods (maybe enough to keep the cops at bay) for the ride home.

I recommend the mod  2 thumbs up

Sort of,  take off the 3 bolts (pay attention to size and location of each) then remove the mounting screws on the back to access remove old bulb and put in led

Be careful wiggling the pod off the bracket

I think Newvalker ( but my memory aint so good) did it for me last year in my driveway right after the fall ride. It took him 20 minutes for the 1st one and 5 for the second one (learning curve)

The thing to know is that some of the screws remove the pods, and other screws take the pods apart.

You just need to loosen the remove ones.

I think that's two screws, and then a post through a grommet (like a side cover)..... this is just memory, it's in the manual, as I recall.

The lights do not mount to the pods, but instead bolt securely to the crash bars. The only mount to the pod is the gasket.

Disassembly:  (no lights here)

Removal: (or here)

remove the 3 readily visible bolts.  Top front and side.
on the lower rear of the pod pull GENTLY outward to pull the post from the grommet.
Then you will find the sweet spot to remove the pod.

Another tip to make the pod removal easier is to remove the black rubber piece that fits around the pod light before removing the pod. That will also help you see what you're working around. It's like a puzzle, turning it the right way as you pull it off to avoid damaging it.
