Replacing both h3 halogen spot bulbs with LED's.

Put first LED in and checked lights. Both spots work.

Put second LED in and spots don't work.

Checked fuse. Blown.

Maybe I touched something putting second spot back into shell.

Wrap electrical tape around spade connector on second spot and refit.

Both LED don't work.

Fuse is good.

WTF

LEDs have specific polarity, are you sure you have + to + AND - TO - on both lights?

Move the connectors to the opposite side, just switch them.

Well that solved that F'in problem.

One of the spots just fell to the floor and shattered the glass.

Oh F'in JOY.

LED is Light Emitting Diode.  Diodes by their nature only allow current to flow one direction.  Think of it like a one-way valve, like a check valve.  If you hook it up and it doesn't turn on, switch the connections.

How do I switch the connections when there is only ONE spade connector to each LED bulb?

Sounds like the one terminal is the + and the Ground or - is an internal ground through the fixture.  Make sure that your fixture is mounted to a grounded, conductive component on your bike, or attach an external ground wire to the fixture, like to a mounting bolt.

Thanks. Having bust one of them I'll be replacing with some new LED units. I hope. If I can find ones to fit on my very basic light bar.

Did a quick search for some replacements and this popped up.

https://www.amazon.com/Adjure-T42703-Trillient-Motorcycle-Spotlight/dp/B003Y7ZUTM?psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duckduckgo-d-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B003Y7ZUTM#customerReviews

The ones I bought cost $40 with free shipping. Weird that the price has rocketed???

I taped the wire in the broken shell so as to not short it. Then taped over the open shell.

I then put the left halogen bulb back in and that doesn't work. What the heck is going on?

How do I use my volt meter to check if there's power to the wires?

Just make sure the bolt and faces that bolt together are clean & Rust free or it may be enough to break the circuit Smiley

 Good luck

Put bike outside at dark to adjust lights and take photos and the heavens opened.

Will try again Tues night.
