Hi,
My bike is apart and now is as good a time as any to do the desmog it.
Can anybody point me to a link/thread for that?

Thanks!  cooldude

http://www.valkyrieriders.com/shoptalk/desmog.htm

I did it as above, I filled the little chrome tops with jb-weld instead of
using freeze plugs.

There's a Red Eye desmog kit, I like it, especially those plugs...

I also did the Redeye kit as well as removed the carb drain tubes. It really cleaned up the engine. If I need to drain them, I do them one at a time with a length of hose and a coffee can.

Received the pair kit today.  It's definitely a first class setup. Gotta read the directions a few times to get what's going on.

+1 on the shiny desmog kit, turned out wonderful. You might also consider the quick disconnect fuel tank kit with inline filter from the same folks. The inline filter saved me from a nasty carb disassembly and clean out when the diaphragm in the petcock failed soon after the desmog install. Bit the bullet and went to a pingel petcock, took about 5 rides to get used to where the shut off lever was but no problem now and the peace of mind is worth the extra reach needed. Wish I had done the pingel while the tank was off the first time. Good luck with your project !
