Hello all,

I am moving to Hixson this month and would like to find a good wrencher for my bike - just in case something needs fixin'.

They are hard to find here in Atlanta, so I was hoping to get a recommendation for a good one up there.

Thanks

I lived in Hixson for many years, up until 5 years ago.

The only good bike mechanic (Robert) was in Red Bank (next community) he has retired.
Robert and I were good friends, and at one time he would still work on a friends bike occasionally.
I do not know if he still does that, I can introduce you.

There may be a good one in the area, but I do not know who it would be.

Most that I know of I do not trust, so I do my own work.

I live about 35 miles northeast now and I will help you, guide you, but I will not do it for you.
As I have to many bikes (and other machines) of my own that I work on.

Thanks Pete.

I too usually do my own wrenching, but I do find that there are a few things I am too fumble finger to work on (like carbs!!!).

Hopefully I will see when I go riding up there!

Thanks again

Carbs are just time consuming repetitive work, not rocket science. Usually takes me 1/2 to 3/4 day to do them. Not a lot of fun but sometime it just has to be done.

It is an hour and a half from Chattanooga up I24, but the Murfreesboro
Honda Shop was very helpful to me once, I left there thinking they were
very competent, both in sales and in the shop.

We've struggled over time on the 1800 board to decide what are good
tires to run on them. The Murfreesboro shop sent me out the door
with what has turned out to be the 1800 board's favorite rear tire...

If you just don't want to take them apart, but are willing to take them off,
I bet you could read up on the Attic Rat ads running at the top of this web
site and that guy could probably rebuild your carbs like new.
