My Valk will be 5 years old next spring, so I think it is time to shop for a new battery. I priced a new OEM battery from the dealer and they want over $160! I know I can do better. Where have you guys found good deals on batteries, and what type/brand did you get?

I keep my bikes battery on a trickle charger 24/7. If I'm not riding it's plugged in. My '09 Kawasaki C14 battery lasted 7yrs., before that my '06 Kawasaki ZX-14 lasted 7yrs.. (I knew the people who bought the bikes) I plan on getting 7 yrs. on my Valk battery. We'll see? When it dies I'll buy here > https://www.hondapartshouse.com/oemparts/a/hon/535963ecf87002133496b291/battery

I agree with everyone else here, our bikes are kind of unique in that they have a 100 amp alternator and dont use but a tenth of that power. So they put little wear and tear on a battery. I would wait and see before I would replace it. MY bike has 30k miles on it and the battery is still going strong. You could get a lithium battery for about 350.00 https://www.ebay.ca/itm/EarthX-ETX36D-Lithium-PowerSports-Battery-LTX36D-/222213221289

I would buy a Yuasa battery I've had good life from them. I would try and get another year or two out of yours. I think the Honda brand Yuasa has a better warranty.

My Valk is 4 years old, 62,000 mls (99,500 km), I ride it every day, no signs of weakness whatsoever and if ever I'd have to buy a new one (in the next century), I'd go for a YUASA YTX-14 BS (YUSA batteries in the US only ? ) because it is the battery required and it costs less than 70 $. Why bother ?

No no Robert, I'm no king, I just ride a lot because I have no car ! As you may know, I test rode the new R1250 RT which is an amazing bike, almost perfect except the dashboard which is obviously obsolete Fortunately, the 1250 RT is stupidly expensive and I guess that I will keep on the joy riding the Valk !

MSRP starts at $18,.6K if you can stay out of the accessories catalog. Good luck with that.
That's not too expensive for a BMW

The lowest price you can get in France is 23,808 $ (21,000 €). Usually you can have a rebate on various accessories (10-15% ha ha) or a decent price for your old BMW or 8% rebate on the MSRP, if you are lucky. I hate you all
