I had been spending some time with my Stihl and splitting maul....
The slop that fell yesterday has put a delay my lumberjacking enjoyment.
These 2 poplar trees were leaning heavily towards our house and power lines...
With a little persuasion they both fell away from any danger....
BBQ'ing seasons 2019 and 2020 are fully stocked with wood, I am now working on season 2021...

Yup, my buddy and I each burn 5 cords a winter, we have 4 more to cut & split.
Hopefully this crap melts. I pull the splitter with my lawn tractor and it has no chains for traction.
And I always wait till the last minute to clean the chimney, caught with my pants down this time...

Wow Terry, you don't mess around!

Because of past weekends of rain and family commitments, I'm nowhere done with my raking. Now the yard is covered in snow. So I'm focusing on other winterizing chores this weekend. Put away patio furniture and hoses this morning. Going to do some wood cutting and splitting this afternoon. Tomorrow I'll put the snow tires on my car and whatever else I can do short of raking.

 Cool

I did 5 cord a year for 30 years here....never used a splitter, always a maul and wedges.
Burn pellets now, so the wood I cut now is burned outside in the pit while we enjoy a few beers, or a couple bottles of wine, and food.

There is 3 plus cord of wood split and stacked Tony....will continue to add to
the stack farthest away, as that's for 2021.
Cutting and splitting is still enjoyable, as long as I don't turn it into a job !!!
We raked our lawn 2 times, vacuumed and mulched the leaves, should have been done a third time,
but the rains came in and didn't leave.

Yeah, that’s how I used to do it too, then suddenly I got old, had a couple parts replaced & operated on, so now it’s  the “easy” way.
