I'm not feeling the greatest, so my memory is not great. Does anyone have a picture of the inside (open) starter switch housing? I can't remember what goes under each of the small brackets. Any help would be appreciated.

I checked those. Parts fische only shows the assembled switches-guess because they don't sell the parts. I had a brain fart. I have three Valks. I just took one of the other switches apart to find the answer. Thanks for the help though. I'm blaming it on my heart attack a couple weeks ago. Not thinking straight yet.

Switch works, but turning it over it makes this bad noise. Anybody know what it is? I’m not going to fire it until I find out. https://youtu.be/ma_F7BcnD4Y

Just guessing That sounds like starter? Starter loose? Could the starter have bad or missing teeth from a hydro lock at some point?

this is a photo posted by another member which I annotated. The kill switch wires aren't visible but those wires go underneath the start button wires when they pass under the wire retainer, if that makes any sense.

Sure sounds like hydrolock to me. Sounds like the starter gears slapping together inside the case. If only 1 is broken it will make enough contact to turn over, if 2 in a row are broken it will just spin without trying to start.

Usually it's the gear on the motor that break. Turn the engine over a little by rocking the bike in gear, and then try the starter again.
You can also remove the starter and look it over.

When you remove the starter you will be able to look into the hole you pulled the starter from and see if the bear is broke. 95% of the time it is the small gear just off to the right. Not the one the starter contacts but the next one. Easy to see with starter out.

Then try it and see if it makes the same noise.

Fixed the switch housing issue, but haven't got it running yet. I had a couple of heart attacks in November, and those slowed the progress considerably. I hope to get back to work on it soon.

Yeah, my dad had one back in August, he has been slow doing things and following the doctors orders. I think it scared him because he has never listened to anyone before. Take care of yourself, the bike will be there when you are ready.
