Just got back from Jacksonville, FL picking up a 1997 Valk. Has some nice extras as you can see in the picture. Needs some TLC and some mechanical work to get her road ready.

Looks like my blue / white before it was blue / white and before it went down on The Blue Ridge Parkway...Duffy had put alot of work and money in this bike so have I  Undecided   I had the Bettlebags repaired but to be honest I don't really like the looks of them so I found some OEM and had them painted .

Same bike as it looks today...

I'll keep that in mind Joe. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the bike yet. I only picked it up because it was a great buy.

Robert and Kimberly are moving into a condo and he has a sports touring bike plus Kimberly's roadie. He hasn't rode the Valk in over 2 yrs and it needs some mechanical work. The bike was included in the 2002 Motorcycle Cruiser article "Cool Valkyrie Customs". You came up Tim as we were talking.

We rode to the Gathering of the fools one year long ago and Robert came with us on the green Valk.
I told Robert he was welcome to come with us but we are brutal on the road. We don't stop to eat or rest, we gas and go. We rode from Jacksonville to Hot Glues house on Friday, BBQ on Saturday, Back to Jacksonville on Sunday, about 900 miles each way.. Robert said he hoped we would be home before Kimberly had to leave at 7:30. We did...  Evil he said he would never do that again. I guess the high speed trip through Mobile was a bit too much. When we got into the tunnel I would set off the flame throwers and all the cars would back off.  Evil
I had fun.
On the way out Robert almost turned back because he thought something was wrong with his bike, he said it was making a strange sound, I told him it was our exhaust tones syncing up, I told him to get closer or further from me, everything was good. cooldude
Ah, the "good ole days"... Cry

Y'all... I found one of those covers a while back. I've been looking at another one that is on eBay, planning on
bidding on it. I appreciate the way VRCC members look out for each other, and wouldn't want to abuse it...
So... I would definitely get another one of those covers if given the chance, I do already have one...

i've been emailing back and forth with Robert today. told me all about selling it...moving to Condo...no room for it...etc. but the house deal (selling his fell thru)...and he isn't moving now ....and almost sounded like he had some seller remorse?

anyway, YES......that bike has a FANTASTIC history. The magazine article...and it always turned heads with that paint job. i've been to MANY a rally with Robert over the years........and his bike was always admired. i know he said lately he hasn't been able to give it the time he'd like to keep it up PERFECT......but i can tell you.........it has a VERY good history.........and a very good first owner.

Robert IS GOOD PEOPLE. He was glad to know at least it went to a fellow VRCC person who would hopefully restore it to its full previous glory! He wondered if you knew me Mac.........

I bet if i look around .......i probably have a 100 pics of that bike.......from all my times with Robert in the good old days........

I told him that I knew you and had met him at the Alabama Ride In. He seemed to have alot on his mind. I hate hearing about the sale of his house. I noticed that Kemberly has a 2000 MM Roadie Kathy is still riding hers. You could tell that they are good people. I'll be working on Greenzilla thru the winter and should have her ready to roll come spring.

He had a sport tourer when he went to Cheaha a few years ago.  Seems like he stayed with Tim the night before.

I'm getting stable envy looking at all these multi-valk owners. Oh well, my bike doesn't want to share me. Cool

Good lookin' green bike.

Sherry got hers.....Robert liked it so much.....we helped him get one for Kimberly at OUR Montgomery dealer (for MUCH less than his FL dealer wanted). We helped him close the deal over the phone...then he came for the weekend to our house...with trailer. We went to the local dealer....he picked up the MM Road Star...and the girls both had MM Road Stars. that was pretty cool. They went several times to Daytona and rode side by side. Alas, Sherry traded her MM Road Star...for her Rune (in 2004)!

That's a nice Road Star... Love the color combo... I think the pinstriping bumps the whole look of the bike from great to awesome!  cooldude

Tim are those champion bags Sherry had on her Roadie? We may be replacing the bags on Kat's Roadie.

Looking over my post and realized that I never thanks Jim L for calling me about this bike. If he had not been looking out for me I wouldn't have it setting in the garage. Thanks dude!
