Just read from the FB board that our good friend is going into hospice.

Seems just a few years ago the Lord spared Russ when he hit a deer on the way home from Spearfish. Hope that it is still not his time yet and he is in no pain now.

Russ is one of the best of the best and my heart is real sad about now

Evan-I doi NOT blame you one iota BUT I could have gone a mucho longer time and not heard this and been way happier.  Lips Sealed But Prayers up and ongoing for Russ.  angel There are times when Family and Friends here for reasons we have zero control over make us feel so cursed helpless and useless. And this sad to say is one of them times. Russ-heal fast my Brother! RIDE SAFE.

O2S and I stopped to see Russ last year. I called twice , but did not want to intrude. All we can do is pray in our own way .

Sad news indeed... but not totally unexpected. We've all known of the unwelcomed developments over the past year or so, and of the huge loss this will be for people of good will everywhere! My heart is heavily burdened by this news, though, and this is a very sad day indeed. I appreciate the update, Evan...

I think one of the worst things about getting old is seeing friends and family leave us. As Bruce said, it has not unexpected and he hasn’t left us yet. I will always remember his kindness. I’ve been thinking a lot in these past months of his wife and daughters. He was and is immensely proud of them. This must be terrible for them. I’m glad they have their strong faith to lean on in these hard times. Take care Russ and God bless you and your family.

Meathead, Im glad to hear they are a family of faith.  Knowing where you are going makes a big difference.  We miss great ones like Russ (even though I have never met him) I believe all your reports.  We will see them again I too will pray for him and his family.

As others have said, while not unexpected news it is no less sad. Russ is a great guy with a beautiful family. God Bless and I will still be praying for him.

To be accurate, I only know of Wiggy’s faith. I assume the family is the same.

Rode with Russ , Josh and Brad early bird Sunday in Billings.  We rode down and through Chief Joseph and Beartooth.  What a great ride and great people.  I wish him Godspeed on his next journey and will pray for his family.

Here's a quick video on Cheif Joseph. Russ on far left

That's my Emily  smitten.  She's wearing a do-rag that old2soon gave to her, just like the one da prez is wearing above.  We enjoyed Wiggy's company that evening.  I wish I would have leaned back a bit for that photo so as not to slice off the edge of Russ's face and his shoulder.  C'est la vie.

Just off at a slight tangent here. When we were at the early bird Ross-da prez-looked at Emily and mentioned to her something along the line of-you will NOT believe how many Grandparents you just inherited. The look on Emily's face was Priceless. G R-give that lovely young Lady a hug from Gramps old2soon! RIDE SAFE.

2funny might as well. I was just hacked on my card anyway. Evidently some devious bastards have been opening up gas pumps and putting card readers inside. I got a text at work the other day from my bank saying there had been some suspect charges on my card, and listed a number to call. I thought it was a phishing attempt and walked over to the bank and asked about it. Sure enough I'd been had. As I'm sitting with the bank lady getting a new card my wife calls and says "are you in Vegas, somebody just took out $120 at a casino"
So, yeah to make a long story short. I've got a card I'll send you.  Grin
