So we got in a few miles Sunday and Monday.
Sunday I took my Nighthawk out for a spin and my son rode his Magna.

We hit the BRP for a few miles and turns. I love my valk but it's fun to ride something smaller and more nimble every now and then.
This was the first time that my son has been with me and on a bike that was even remotely matched to what I was riding. He held his own pretty good.
We rode the BRP to Buena Vista and then took US 60 and US 501 home. This is a FUN side trip BTW if your riding the BRP.
Yesterday the VALK was jealous, so just she and I went for a little ride.
I decided to go back to the BRP, but this time I started at the begining.
There are sections of the BRP that I ride on a regular basis. But, I don't get to the actual begining too often. Mostly because it's a two hour ride just to get there.
But the weather was GREAT especially for the 16th of November. Which made the ride there almost as enjoyable as riding the BRP.
One thing about riding the BRP after the leaves fall from the trees is that the views are better.

Just when I thought that I'd seen every kind of "critter" possible on the BRP, yesterday I ran into these guys:

Yep, that's a Mountain Goat and a Ram. I don't think that these guys are native to Virginia. So I don't know what the story is behind them being here.
As I was pulling away a guy on a crotch rocket rounded the curve while the pair of critters were crossing the road. He wound up splitting them on the yellow line. I'm sure that he had to stop and clean out his shorts. I'm also sure that the last thing that he thought when he got on the BRP was that he'd be dodging a mountain goat.
I also found a nice waterfall and part of an old narrow guage railroad that I've passed a dozen or more times without even knowing that it was there.

I made it down to Buena Vista just as the sun was setting.

So, I had to kick my otherwise leasurely ride up a couple of notches to beat the darkness home. I hate it when that happens...
