Some might have heard me complain of a pulled muscle in back at the gathering a couple weeks back. It didn't let up and didn't get better, when suddenly I was treated to an episode strong enough to make you lose your religion. After meeting with my primary dr., he requested some tests so today I went for a complete blood workup(that ought to really suck after Thanksgiving) and an ultrasound. The good news....the kidneys are clear....whoohoo! But...a big BUT; as the tech was checking the gall bladder I heard her say "oh my!" I suggested she hadn't found any gold in there, she laughed and said "if we did, you could sell that sucker and pay cash for a new car."  Then turned the screen so I could see the returns. Oh my indeed! She showed me the outline of the gall bladder and said "that big bright spot just above the opening is your nugget and most likely the source of your pain 'cuz honey....it isn't going anywhere." My primary dr. will get the results by week's end after the radiologist reviews them. My guess is he'll refer me to a surgeon or a gastro type dr. to determine what's next....probably will want to remove it and be done with it. Later this afternoon I meet with my urologist to schedule a biopsy of the prostate, seems Bruce(DDT) was right when he greeted me at the gathering with "hey old man, seems like we are two imperfect a'holes!"  We're facing the same issue and spent a few minutes commiserating over our seemingly age related imperfections.

Once I get this plumbing overhaul, I should be done with it for some years to come. I hope I get to put it to the test for at least another 15 years, after reaching 95 I might not care too much.  Wink

At least now you know where the pain is originating. Good luck with it John.

No fun for sure, I have gall stones also but so far have  not had any bad episodes with them. I get a sonogram every year and they are staying about the same as when they were first found.

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you’re in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

Geez, John!  I hope all goes OK with you.  I had one as couple of years ago but must have passed it.  We never saw it so it must have been small.  It was very uncomfortable, to say the least.

Definitely not fun at all, you do have a very positive out look and that makes things a little easier.

Hope all goes well John
