Here's a couple pics of where I am at the moment. Front end is almost naked, plan to change the fork oil and the seals. The calipers were quite dusty and after blowing brake dust off I noted the pads are slightly more than 50% worn so I plan to redo the calipers and install new pads. The radiator hoses are 20 yrs. old and were a impossible to break loose so just cut them off and removed the radiator. I had forgot what a PITA it was to pull that thing. Next to come off will be the belt cover so I can replace the belts and tensioners. I have a new 180 deg. high flow t'stat to go in, will pick up a generic gasket from NAPA this week. The high flow t'stat actually flows nearly 50% greater fluid than the OEM t'stat, generally allowing for cooler running and at a more stable temp in the process. New seals for the front wheel....dust and oil, clean and lube the speedo gearbox, check the wheel bearings, flush all fluids. I plan to take the hoses with me to a local parts store and see if I can find comparable units rather than order. If not, they're still only $26.16 from Procaliber.com. One thing I'm definitely going to rectify is the connector for the fan motor. It's hidden up high behind the neck and with baby hands and 10" fingers you can get at it so you can remove the radiator. I plan to make a jumper about 6" long so I can plug the fan back in without unusual fussing. It's nearly impossible to get at and you have to loosen the tank and lift it to get at the plastic screw that holds that triangular cover in place, which has to be removed to get at that connector. Stupid assembly from the factory. I have all the various connectors and pins used by the factory so making a jumper that drops down below the frame cross member in front will be no problem. Other than that, I have nothing to do!

Looks like fun John. Some of those wintertime chores. I notice that you have a helper stool for Rita.

You're a brave man, John. I have to put progressive springs, seals, and dust covers in mine soon. But I can't do that until I get my other Valk back together, since I'm using the jack on that one. I'm sure you will take your time and do it right.

There is a lot of room in that garage, maybe enough to fit at least another project bike

Woddy, I'll have to back off the project a little, all that twisting and bending fires up the gall bladder issue and I'm trying to make it to next Thursday's appt. with the surgeon. As I'm writing this I have an ice pack on that area of the back, gives a little relief. Guess I'll go ahead and order parts for refurbishing the front calipers, new pads, radiator hoses. Maybe by the time they all get here I'll be able to get back on it.
