Hi all,

I’m planning a little trip to So Cal with my wife in January since EagleRider has such a great deal going on for January (70% discount or something ridiculous). Which national parks do you think will be doable weather wise in January?

Looking forward to your advice,
Justin

Joshua Tree, Death Valley for sure. I don’t know about Zion in January.

Forget up in Sequoia or Yosemite.

I got snowed on and frozen hiking in both in early June

Its not a National Park but a ride up the Coast is always nice.

An update: there was a massive snow storm this past weekend in the Sierra Nevada, over 22 inches of snow in 2 days.

Yosemite Valley was rideable until last Friday (except the Glacier Point and Tioga pass that are closed), but now it is covered in snow.

Another thing to consider is the government shutdown: as an example, Joshua Tree NP was about to be closed due to the vandalism and load of visitors with no rangers around to keep order.
