You probably have your updates to Auto Download and Install.  There was a recent updated version of IE, but that was awhile ago I thought.  I am using Mozilla Firefox.    If you go to Help and About it should tell you the version number.  Also, you could revert to a previous set up I believe... by using Restore.

I know some others on here use firefox. What are the advantages/disadvantages?

I believe it's easier to use than IE.  It doesn't seem to have as many security issues as IE.  Maybe it's targeted less.

It does seem to require a lot of memory.  Maybe IE does also.

You can try it out without replacing IE.  They can both exist on the same Windows machine.  Try it for a couple of weeks.  If you don't like it you can at least then choose between the two.

Here's the link:  Mozilla Firefox Download

I use IE at work (required) and Firefox at home (desired). I like the security aspects of FF much better than IE. The only con I have found FF is that "some" internet downloads are incompatable. If I seem to be having a problem loading something, I just open IE and download away and the go back to FF when finished.

Thanks to all for the help and thanks Mr. Willow for the link. Currently using firefox.  Smiley Too early to tell but seems better to me.
I need to check the autoinstall thing. I did go in last year and change that 'cause I don't like autoinstall.
Again, thanks for the help. More PC questions to come later.

Just be thankful that you don't have Windows 7.
I hate it, being used to XP for years at work and at home.
