I had these hand grip heaters laying around

that I was not going to use for their intended purpose, so I decided to put them to use as heaters for my steel toed riding boots. I had the male and female connectors that are commonly used for heated apparel that will carry at least 10 amps,

put them on the heaters.

and made a harness that would run inside my pants and out the waist. To control the heaters, I used a pulse width modulator, not really a voltage regulator, but supply's the 12 volts for shorter or longer periods of time.

This will not work to supply an electronic circuit, but for a resistive load like this it is fine as the RMS voltage will go up or down.

It works fine sitting in the kitchen,, I am going to put the PWM under the seat for now with the control hanging over the right side cover. If it works good enough, I will mount the PWM permanently and put the control in the fairing.
