Spacer goes between the bar and the frame. The threaded section for the bolt  is welded to the back side of the frame. You can see it easy with an inspection mirror.

If it is the bolt I am thinking about , the frame section can be removed and the repairs can be done on the work bench.

The nut is on the left lower frame section. If you are going to take it off anyway, it might be easier to just replace the frame member.

from pinwall $14.37 free shipping!

Thanks for info, it will probably be Sunday or next Wednesday before I get to bike again. I am just floored as another bolt broke. Seems like everything I touch for first time, two intake bolts doing orings, alternator,  rear exhaust hanger and know this. I sprayed all over and from behind and used a small quarter inch drive ratchet. Oh yea two caliper bolts I thi k even some on forks. I believe Johny overtourque must have worked on this bike.

I would remove the sub frame and extracted the broken bolt. If you order a used frame section make sure it is not bent before installing it or you will end up worse off than you are.

I broke the foot peg mount bolt off in mine. I worked for 2 days trying to extract it, to no avail. Buying one from Pinwall was the way to go. I'm sure they can get bent in a wreck, but because of where it's at I suspect most survive even major wrecks just fine.
