Author Topic: How do you remove the chrome end caps/weights from 2014 Valk hand grips?  (Read 2508 times)

I recently purchased some wind shields that will cover my hands when riding. Part of mounting them requires me to remove the ends of the hand-grips, so that I can install the shields, and that includes a long threaded screw that screws into the ends of the grips.

The caps look like this:

I see a little round piece in the center, and I think that's the part that is covering where I'll install the new bolt. But I don't see how to get it out, or get the whole cap/weight off? I saw a video where the guy just took a pair of pliers and ripped it off, but since I bought this bike, new, about 4 weeks ago, I'm a little leery to take a pair of pliers to it, you know?

Can someone please confirm for me how to get the ends off so I can complete this install?

They unscrew.  Just twist them.

Yes, they unscrew and sometimes without your knowledge so you have to check from time to time.  Grin

Unfortunately, the handlebar grips on the Valk are different from the standard GW and IMHO there's nothing you can do about it or tie anything.  Cry
