Been together just shy of 20 years.  Sad All she left behind were some great memories and some of the best friendships I've made in my life.  cooldude After I had a total knee replacement last july, I could no longer ride her comfortably for any length of time.  :'( I made one of the toughest decisions of my life and sold her to a motorcycle collector in Seattle WA. I think the only people who understand how I feel right now are my N.E. VRCC family and my wife. I think I am going to 3 wheels next, either a spyder or a wing trike. Carol wants to start riding again with me, and I don't trust that knee to hold us 2 up. No hurry though, still reeling from watching her pull away in that 18 wheeler.  Miss riding with you guys.  Glide-on>>>>>>>>>>>

Happy Holidays,

Ron & Carol

I see you are not looking back, but looking forward.
The next new adventure is just around the bend.

I know a lady that can out-ride me on her trike, but I swear if
I got three wheels I'd get one of those hot-rod kinds with two
wheels on the front that leans...

Like this...

https://www.tiltingmotorworks.com/

or that whacky new Yamaha, but I don't think it helps with
bad knees...

Sad to hear the ole Valk had go Ron but I sure do understand. That is why I keep my Sidecar rig around.

Hey Ron. Two Maidens gave you so many great memories. I understand that it was hard to let her go. My youngest daughter loved all the skulls on the bike. Best wishes for your next steps in riding. It's great that Carol wants ride with you.

Ron, sorry for your loss, you have your memories, and many options to continue sharing the wind. Three wheels have changed drastically in the past 20 years, Shorty has a newer GW trike and loves it. Whatever you decide on, hope to catch some wind with you and Carol in the future!

The nice thing about this group and web site, is that you don't have to own a Valkyrie to be a member.  I would drive a wheel chair to hang out with most of the characters in this organization.

Hi Ron,  we understand where you are coming from.  Carol & I go on our short trips with the Indian Roadmaster trike (Motor Trike, Tomahawk), a lot easier on the ol' legs but still has the power to get up and go when you want. cooldude
I still have my Valkyrie and go out by myself once in a while (today, I took off for 3-4 hours).  Love the Valk and I would have a tough time giving it up.  Will keep it for at least another 2 years till my grandson graduates from college.  Roll Eyes
We are talking about going down in your direction in the late spring (April-May) but I don't think it will be on the trike.  Carol has a tough time riding for an extended period.
And as for someone who can outride me on a trike... I think she has move to Rockland and don't get to see her as much as we like.  Shocked coolsmiley

It was the Valkyrie that brought a 'bunch of strangers' together as a family....
Most have moved away from that m/c, yet we remain a close family....
Best of luck with your knee replacements, hope rehab brings you back strong as ever.....

Take care cuz.........
