Valkpilot talks about needing a wrench party.   I used to go to wrench parties all the time when I was in the BMW Club of Houston for years when I rode BMWs.   I live in Tomball, Tx area and I have a 40 x 60 bldg that I could offer for a wrench party.  It is a nice bldg built in 2009 and has 19' peak with concrete slab and a shell driveway leading to it.  It is behind my home.  I have all the basic tools.   I have 1 motorcycle jack.   Could offer a sandwich lunch and chips and soft drinks.   Alcohol is ok but you would have to bring your own.   I'm retired and will host this but I am very busy till after March.   One weekend in April would be perfect for me.   I have 1 large shop fan and several small fans to help cool down engines for work.  I can pull out the boat, tractor, and trailers and we could have a large work area.   ck out the pics

I will post the offer mid March again for any takers.   If you have a larger than one day project on your bike you can come a few days earlier and get started.  Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year.

If anyone needs sparkplugs, oil, oil filters or parts if you line it out and pay for them at Honda of Houston Motorcycle Shop on Hyway 290 north I can pick them up ahead of time and have them here at my home when you get here so you don't have to transport them on your bike.

I mount all my tires on the Valk with tire irons and soapy water. I also have a bead breaker and an air compressor to set the new tire beads.  Not that hard to do.

cooldude that’s what I do also Mark. The way I read his post it sounded like he was able to get it mounted without using the irons. I can get the first side on by slipping it on without the irons. But the second bead I’ve got to wedge spacers underneath to keep the tire in the valley and use the irons to get the last 12-16” on. I was hoping he had a secret tip for mounting.

If a tire can be mounted without irons or any tools, I would tip my hat to that man.  I would also step back 100 yards before it was inflated because there is no way it is the proper size if that happens. Shocked

I think everyone was talking about normal tire tools , and I my self tip my hat to this ideal. I tried it with large tie wraps and I think I  like this better.

I use dyna beads (2oz in front, 3oz in MC rear, 4oz DS rear) on my bumblebee because my TPMS sensors are inside the tire and Ride-On is not recommended.  If not for the sensors, I would use Ride-On for the balancing and puncture protection.

To break the bead all you have to do is ride the front left or right of your car  on the side of the tire and wheel to be unseated. An old trick I learned in Canada where the winter/ summer tire dance never stops.  lol 2funny
if the rotors are on choose a soft emplacement as your lawn.
what date is this wrencher happening?

If you were going to use the ride on product would you take the existing metal balancing weights off first or use the ride on product as a supplement

I have seen this done with packing tape. Use a C clamp to compress the tire beads together then push the tire over the rim then pull the tape. Worked like a charm.

The tire I mounted was a Bridgstone ecopia ,a 60 , witch prove to be a fatal choice   tickedoff
A relativly soft tire as I remember only using the knees and soapy water. A motorcycle tire is much stiffer it would not be possible. cooldude

Just a reminder.....WRENCH PARTY in 3 weeks from this Saturday.  I'll provide Soft drinks and sandwiches with chips.   Alcohol is ok but bring your own.  I have fans to cool engines down to be able to work on your bikes.  I have most necessary tools.  If you want me to provide parts for you call Honda of Houston and pay for them over the phone and I will pick them up and have them here when you get here.  Be sure to let me know if you want me to pick up parts.

Location:
21307 Fones
Tomball, Tx 77377

Not necessary but a head count would help on food.

Again, if you have a large project feel free to come days earlier and get started.    I have very little mechanical knowledge about Valkyries so I am eager to see what you guys work on.  See ya here.

I’m planning on coming by to at least kick tires and maybe get some suggestions on finding a ignition switch hot wire for a volt meter.
