Love the bike, I can see why you are all die hard fans.  There's definitely a learning curve for me, position of the foot controls and pegs is going to take some getting used to.  I wasn't comfortable doing a tight U turn.  All things I'll adapt to.  Over the holidays I will mount the RIVCO adapter, put it up on my J&S jack and detail the hell out of it.

I did have one issue.  From around 60, I rolled hard on the throttle in 5th up to 100 +/-, then did it again, shifting down to 4th before I made the pass.  Immediately after the second pass the radiator cap bled of a little coolant.  Took it out on the interstate, held it at 70 then 80, then 85 no issue...  So should I just buy a new cap and try it again?

I would bleed the system first.

Take the cap off, run  the bike for a few minutes, then blip the throttle a few times.

What Hook said  cooldude as far as the uturns, you will get used to the bike shortly. I’ve found these bikes like to be powered thru a uturn vs. letting off the gas.

Some have slightly bent the tabs on the underside of the cap that hold the cap on to make them pull the cap down tighter, and have had good results stopping a cap leak.  That would be a good first attempt to fix it.  Because my cap has been fine since new, if it started to leak I would assume the rubber is getting too hard to make a good seal, and just replace it.

If I had just drained and refilled the coolant, I would do what Hook said, but I have no idea how it would do anything to help a cap leak.

As far as turns go, you will be able to turn lock to lock if you follow the techniques in the "Ride Like a Pro" videos.  I got the video several year ago and it made a tremendous difference in the way I ride.  https://www.ridelikeapro.com

It's not uncommon for some to get a bit of a cap leak (or a hose leak) after a bike sits for awhile.

I've heard of more leaks from the hose than from the cap. But there is a set screw in the OEM cap to stop it from coming off, so be forewarned.

Don’t buy a RIVCO adapter. Get one from MarkT at horeseapple.com his adapters are superior to anything out there and the simplest to install.

Thanks for the advice.  A new Honda cap is on the way, hoping it helps.  One of the guys at the Honda shop said they sometimes get a bubble and once it clears problem over...  We'll see.

As for my U turns, I'll have this bike down pat in short order.  My statement was observations of my first ride on it.  I just need a couple hours saddle time with it before I have it trained to do what my mind is thinking.  Getting used to the foot controls and peg location will be harder.

My Valkyrie (and the wifes Suzuki Boulevard) are for riding here in SE Florida during the winter.  Because we find it kinda boring, and certainly most dangerous, we only do  2,000+/- miles a season.  So there will be no replacing our Harleys.  Wife and I both have Harleys, I have a 17 Road Glide, she has a 18 Heritage with the 114.  Those bikes are currently in SD stored at our summer home where we ride them at least 12,000 miles every summer.  If you haven't been, and get the opportunity to do the Sturgis rally do not pass it up.  The Rally bought me out there initially a long time ago, we never tire of it.  FWIW, I always recommend coming out the week before the rally as most vendors are there and open.  If the rally is not important, come any time but during the rally.

Too late, I ordered it right after I bought the bike, I have it now.  I admit, there's no way at this time do I think the Valkyrie is going to be as stable as the Harley or the Indian are on the J&S.

BTW  "horeseapple.com" doesn't seem to exist.

I was thinking, a "New To Him bike", the PO may have messed with the system.

I've had the Rivco adapter for years and love it.  Very stable and out of the way.
