Hi all. Happy Christmas.  I have removed my trunk from my 2000 Interstate with the intention of Super valking the bike. I thought I had done my home work and I have a new rear tail light and the wiring loom from fender plug to tail light / indicators. I also have the section from the fender plug to the wiring connection in the right hand panel. I have fitted it all and now find the harness connection behind  the right hand panel only has four wires? not five as required.  No green/ yellow connector? for the front brake light?  I have worked it out that this connection is part of the flat three wire trunk connection behind the right hand panel. what I need to know is which colour wire do I connect the green/ yellow  brake power wire to?  thanks

Green is earth. DO NOT CONNECT ANYTHING TO IT. looking at my manual there should be.
Green = earth
Blue= right signal
Orange = left signal
Brown = light
Green/ yellow = brake.
What colour wires are on your tail light loom and what colour on your connector on the bike ?
There is no front brake light wire. Both front and rear are common at the junction. Does anything wort when plugged in ?

Thanks, yes its the green/ yellow front brake power wire. I have green, earth. brown and white and green and red. all in the three connector I/S connection, I now have the standard wiring loom to the back fitted.  the green / yellow either connects to the brown/white or green/red.

Well the only thing I would do is connect a volt meter or test light to brown / white  and see if here is power when you hit the brake. If yes that’s it. If no, it’s the other one. Is the back light you have a Valkyrie one ? I couldn’t find those wire coloured in the book.

Thanks again, yes the rear light I have put on is a new valk standard one, I have changed the two harnesses to the standard type and unplugged all the I/S ones. everything works apart from brake light, which is this green / yellow wire. I notice on the I/S wiring diagram that the rear trunk brake light has both the brown /white and green/ red wire attached to it plus the earth green. one must be for the front brake and one the rear brake pedal.

No, the front and rear brake are on the same wires. Make sure you have power at the green yellow wire when you apply the brakes. You will only have 3 wires to the tail light. Earth, light and brake light.

Thanks for that, so the yellow/green wire for the brakes goes to which one, the green/ red or brown and white?  I will try both.

My Interstate is a 2000 Canadian model,and for some reason the green/yellow brake light wire connects to the green and red wire in the three pin connector. I have soldered a piece of wire with the correct female connector on to the G/R wire which allows me to just plug in the G/Y,  so I can still plug in the trunk connector. it all works. Maybe Canadian models have slightly different wiring colours, it all looks original.
