I have heard of a Harley Davidson Shock Cover that is used as a cover for the Valk. 1500 Oil Filter cover.

Can anyone help me out with which one it is?

I hear you have to buy them in a pair.  So anyone here want to split a pair?

Thanks,  CK

Here you go.  A pair won't break you.  I have it and the chrome is very nice, and with some cleaning it stays nice (up in the dirty front of the bike). It's a good idea to dab some grease on the tightening screw threads (against corrosion).  You obviously mount the clamp at 6 o'clock.

It will cover the small OE filter.  I run the slightly longer Purolator Pure One filters, and it leaves maybe  a quarter/third inch of the filter exposed in back (and those filters are mustard yellow).  I don't care.  It still protects the filter from getting holed by a rock or something (and beats the hell out of a Coors beer can).

Really one of the cheapest nice chrome bling you can add (even for two).

I think these are the same ones, and more expensive on Amazon (but it says free shipping). https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Luckys-Covers-models-Vintage/dp/B01BMQJGMI

I use a stainless-steel confectioner’s sugar shaker. I've been using it since 2009.

I use the Purolator Pure One oil filter, it is approximately a half inch longer than the standard filter.

I use ¾ inch electrical tape wrapped 3 times around the base of the filter. This makes the cover stay tight when I slip it over the filter. I have been using it since 2009 it has never fallen off.

The cost was only 79 cents and it looks great.

Wow.  The price seems right.  Can you tell us what the name of this item is and where it can be found?

Thanks, so much.

I cut the bottom out of a can of Billy Beer and slide it over my oil filter.  Looks great and starts a lot of conversations.

I don't mean to be a name dropper, but I go to Plains, GA once a year to visit President Carter.  A couple of the stores in Plains sell empty cans and full cans to the tourists.   You can also get them on Ebay.

This is probably the best suggestion as we can all drink at least a case of Billy Beer and then take the best can left!

Thanks for the tip on the confectioners shaker.  It was hard to weed through the ones for the right size. Here's mine.. Inside is a PL14610

I purchased mine in a Meijer Department store. I found it in the Home Department and carried it over to the Automotive Department to check its fit on a Purolator PL14610 oil filter. That eliminated any guessing about size. I hope that makes sense to you.
Also, I misspoke about the cost. I paid $1.79 not 79 cents. Sorry about that!
