I've noticed some popping again and thought it was fuel related, jets clogging again?  I had the choke linkage and covers off to shim my needles and install Interstate springs, so I fingerd I'd check my upper boots while I have access to them. 5-6 turns later on each boot!!! finally they were snug. The funny thing is, this is the third time this year I had to tighten them. I check the lowers more often cause their accessible, never problems there though.
Anyone else have them loosen up?
  Anyone try lock-tite on them?

I wouldn't do that  the only to remove them after that would be to use a torch or heat gun on the screws an that could damage the rubber boot.Art

Mine continually loosen up also. I was thinking of locktite too. Seems to me that blue Locktite shouldn't be a problem to get loose. I think the problem is that there are not many threads on the female side of the clamp.

Ok now don't laugh. Before I knew about lock-tight a buddy showed me his method. He kept a cheap bottle of nail polish. One little dab where the threads exited the nut. It really helped me on a Triumph Bonneville that always loosened screws.

In addition to nail polish, I use Elmers wood glue on threads I want to remove again, but don't want to move.
