I'm looking for the number for the longer oil filter for the 1500.

I know the short filter is 6607.

Thanks  in advance.  CK.

I'm pretty sure that is a Purolator Pure One filter.

But the part number escapes me.

I don't know if it listed in Jeff K's Generic Valkyrie Parts Page in Shoptalk.

Apologize for length of post but...…

This article was written by Mike Guillory.

Technical Fitment Specification
20 X 1.5mm threads, gasket diameter approximately 2.3 inches, O.D. approx. 2.75 inches, length approximately 2.5 to 3.5 inches.
__________

OEM Motorcycle Oil Filters
You can't go wrong using the OEM filter for your motorcycle. However, sometimes these may be hard to find, especially on a Sunday or Monday, or in smaller communities, or you may think the OEM part is unnecessarily expensive. Or, you may want a better filter to further minimize engine wear. You deserve choices.

Alternate Motorcycle Oil Filters
If your motorcycle uses the Honda 15410-MM9-013 oil filter (most late model VFRs, CBRs, ST1100s, etc), following are some filters which are equivalent to and possibly superior to the Honda filter. These also fit most late-model Kawasaki sportbikes and Vulcans, plus most late-model Yamaha sportbikes, the VMAX, and the Royal Star. They also can be used on the mid-80s Magnas, Sabres, Interceptors, and Shadows. See Author's note #6, below for a comment about Suzuki oil filters.
Important: The only meaningful difference between all those shown below are external length. They all fit the 1994 to 1997 VFR, the CBR600s, and mid-80s Magnas and Sabres. Your motorcycle's clearance and available space for a spin-on filter may be different, so you need to consider that. The very shortest filters should fit anywhere. All threads and gasket dimensions are compatible, all have anti-drain back valves, and all have bypass valves that operate in the normal range of 8 to 13 psi range.

I use an oversized PureOne PL14459. larger dia, more filter media, same length as OEM.

be careful with a longer filter. some were cut open yrs ago and it was found that the filter media was same length as the shorter one.

For Wix/Napa (same thing)

1356- this is the ~3.25" long "car" filter.

1358- this is the "motorcycle" filter. About 2.5" long. Instead of six (iirc) larger holes like the 56/65, this one has eight smaller ones

1365- This is the 2.5" long "car" filter.

All three will fit virtually any motorcycle that takes a spin-on.

Napa Gold is the same as Wix Regular. Napa platinum is the same as a Wix "XP".  On Wix-branded boxes, there's another number in front of the four digit code, which just refers to the economy/regular/premium level.

I've used all three. My Vmax had an oil pressure gauge, and I did notice it tended to be a bit lower using the longer 1356- less restriction from bigger filter, so not surprising. The 1358/1365 were about the same, and across the board a few psi higher. Maybe like 33 vs 30 psi at the same highway RPM. Not a huge difference. Both idled around 2-3psi, which was typical for the bike. High volume, lower pressure system.

I go for the 1356 just for a bigger surface area. They go on sale at napa couple times a year for like half off, so I grab a half dozen or so when I happen to catch it, or when they do the thing where you buy the bucket for a dollar and it's half off whatever you can fit in it. You can get about a dozen oil filters in it. lol

When trying to get the whole gallon in, it's better to have the longer filter.

This sounds vaguely obscene, but it's not.

I also use the whole gallon with a PureOne PL14610 Filter. It's not obscene, it's a good and convenient thing.  Smiley
