Windshield Air Vent

Has anyone heard of adding an air vent to a standard Memphis Shades or National cycles windshield? If so, does it do any good for buffeting?

I've not added one but I ordered a Clearview shield with one. It helps a lot in hot weather and has no effect on buffeting.

Whether it affects buffeting probably depends on how tall your shield is. The top of my Clearview shield is about 1.5-2 inches below eye level, and closing the vent creates a small increase in turbulence hitting my helmet, but not enough to create discomfort, just enough to feel. This is for calm air, or straight on headwinds; in crosswinds, no effect noticed. The Clearview has a slight recurve that pushes the air higher over your head, so the effect of the vent may be different with shields that don't.

Do you have fork mounted deflectors ? They helped a bunch with buffeting for me.

Thanks for the response, I do have Memphis Shades fork mounted lowers, they seem to make a difference. Don't really have any problems, just wondering if anyone ever tried the Goldwing type air vents on a standard type windshield.
