Carly Simon's song reminds me of a certain time in my life when I really found that I had found my soulmate. It's kinda old and sappy, but you know we all have those tunes that jog our minds and tug at our hearts.
Of course the ZZ Top tunes "Legs", " Tush", " Pearl Necklace" and " Tube Steak Boogie" come to mind too!

I knew a few that remind me of my x-wife! Ah thats not funny, I'm going over there tonight. ??? There are a few that remind me of Kit. Not so much her but as the place we were at hearing the song together esp on the bike. Which is pretty much everywhere since she is always sitting behind me.

I knew a few that remind me of my x-wife! Ah thats not funny, I'm going over there tonight. ??? Well, you will not but I will, got three ex's. To the last ex I dedicate something from Harry Nilsson: "You're breakin' my heart." (look up the lyrics) To the second ex: "Witches Promise" by Jethro Tull The first ex? Well, several from from Chinga Chavin's first album come to mind. Gentle readers will have to find out on their own as this is a family board. Sigh, I was so much younger then.

This song was and remains our song. Navigator danced to it with my buddies while I played in the band in college. After being drafted in 1969, this song brought even more meaning to us.

For some reason,"How can I miss you if you don't go away?" comes to mind, followed at a close second,"If the phone's not ringin, it's me not callin!"

As I suspected this thread would produce some interesting responses. As far as my ex-wife is concerned (a very good woman indeed), however I have to admit that it is not so much a song but an album that reminds me of my time with her. "The Grateful Dead - What a long strange trip it has been". As for my wife, the following song sums it up...

Yeah... Ernest Tubbs... "Waltz Across Texas". It was my wife and my inaugural dance at our wedding reception a mere 31 years ago. It plays every once in a while here in Singapore, believe it or not... we always get the band to play it at Blanco's in Houston on New Year's Eve... and this year, for number 31, we went to a bar where the all Chinese cowboy band did a damn good version of it. I do remember my bride that night... radiant... not realizing what she had got herself in for.
