How are you doing my friend? My little set back has been very uncomfortable. The picture below is some of the handy work my doctor did last Thursday. All this should come off next Wednesday. I hope this doesn't gross to many people out here.

Dang ! Dave , that’s some serious suture work. Looks like he took an old Honda wiring harness to stitch you up. Hope you guys get healed up soon.  cooldude

OK BigMac, a little more explanation. I've been gone from medical work to long now and I have not seen an incision job like that before. Looks like you sere stapled with drainage tubes sutured along the wound for drainage. What the heck happened to you?   Was this a motorcycle accident wound. spine work,? Hope tour healing  well.  cooldude

Hi Jimmy G, no accident just some spinal fusion because I had a vertebrae that had moved forward and was up against my sciatic nerve. Doing much better now.

Thanks, Dave

Yikes Dave, I'm sorry to see that.
I  found out that I am sensitive to the tape they used to cover mine up.
No stitches or staples, he used Glue to close the incision.
As a result I have blisters where the tape reacted with my skin.
I wont post a picture as it looks worse than yours but is all on the surface.

My surgery is 3 weeks old on Friday and I just feel generally like crap.
No driving until after my first appointment on 3/18, I have to wear a brace when ever out of bed.
What keeps me going is that he said "6 weeks of agony then you will ask why you waited so long".

My goal is to ride the "Three Flags Classic" on Labor Day weekend. I have already paid the entrance fee so that's my incentive.

Let's plan on a lunch when we can both ride again. Hopefully we will be able to laugh all this off by then.

Hang in there Tom, It's my hope to be on my bike at the 6 week mark. May not make it with this set back. I never really wore my back brace. Didn't seem to help me. Sure will be glad to get this all behind me.

Wow Dave. That looks like something John, Dennis and I would do to you in a hotel parking lot with just the tools in our saddlebags.  cooldude

Hey Dave. They have me using an electronic "bone regenerating" device. Did you get one of those to use?

No Tom, I didn't have one of those. Just rest and pain pills. I'm pretty much off those though. My hardware comes off next Wednesday so I'll probably be sore after that.

Hey George, how's the knee coming along? Also I believe you and John and Dennis can fix anything with a few tools in your saddle bags.

The knee is doing great, thanks. My last PT session is tomorrow, from that point it's a matter of building strength and retaining motion.
