Today it's been 5 weeks since I had my surgery. I've been doing pretty well except of my incision. It just wouldn't heal up properly. So last week I had to go into the hospital again so the doctor could do some cleaning up. There was no infection so that was a good thing. Below is a picture of the new work my doctor did to me. I must say it's been very sore and it's been hard to sleep on my back until just the last few nights. I did have to stay the night in the hospital which was a nightmare. That place was so noisy that I got no sleep and the food is really bad. Friday when I got home I ate and went right to bed. On Friday evening as I was going to bed I noticed a lot of blood on my bandage. So the next morning I went to urgent care to have them take a look at it. The doctor said it looked like normal drainage but all looked good. So twice a day my wife would change my dressing until Monday when the drainage stopped. Overall my back feels good except for the incision and I will have that removed next Wednesday. Should be down hill from there. Can't wait to get back to some kind of normal and get back on the bike again.

Hope I don't gross to many of you out. Looks like he grafted a football into my back.

Our wives are the unsung heroes of our surgical adventures. We only see the pictures, they deal with the real thing.

Those look for all the world like bent firecrackers.

Wishing you quick healing and return to normal.
