I will only tell you what I know to be fact. I have two friends that bought Shinko tires for their bikes. Both of them had to replace them within a month due to tire bounce (like it was unbalanced, yet they were balanced). Do a search on Shinkos. I know a few folks on here are fine with them, but they seem to have QC issues.

I know some have had issues with shinko tires. But I've been running shinko tires on the front of my trike for 5 years now. I have yet to get a bad one. Not to say i may not get one eventually. I know once you've had a bad brand of tire you'll probably never buy that brand again. Not mentioning brand but i also have a brand i will never buy again because i had nothing but issues with the couple i did buy. So the choice is yours. Take a chance or listen to opinions. Seems there are products made every day that fall into this category. Some are good some are bad.

no idea of 712 rear tire put on the front, but my shinko 230 tourmaster made for front tire has been fine running

i highly doubt you will find anyone running that shinko 712 rear tire on the front of our bikes, but could be wrong..

with the shinko 230 tourmaster am sure will go 15K easy enough,  why not just get that one for under 100 bucks?

NOT the one yer lookin at But I am on my 2nd Shinko SR777 140-80-17 in white wall. I've been Very Happy with mine. First one had balance beads and this one has B Bs-Yes THOSE BBs-as the balance media. And-YES-I'll buy another Shinko when I need one. RIDE SAFE.

Never run that one Rick, I’ve run the 230 tourmaster and 890 journey tires from Shinko. Of the 2 the tourmaster is the better tire in my opinion. Both fronts.  Not gone double dark yet. How’s that rear tire holding up for you?

For the first time I'm running a Shinko right now for my rear tire. It took a lot of research but I figured out that the tread pattern on that tire causes vibration. It is not a smooth ride. The tire is performing well otherwise but I wish it would wear out so I can put a new tire on there. I won't buy another Shinko

I've heard of using BBs to balance large truck tires.  How well do they work, and how do you install them?  I suppose you just toss 2-3 ounces in the tire when mounting.  One advantage is that they'd be too large to clog the air valve like the beads do.

Before you seat the last bead with tire vertical install put the BBs in. Either thru a funnel or from a small container-old pill bottle in my case. Seat the last bead and air it up. December 18 or January 19 on my cage while in Illinois we took the tire/wheel assemblies off my cage pulled the static weights and after deflation of tire broke one bead put in the BBs and on the way home to Missouri I walked the Pontiac up to over the ton and she were smooth as glass-just like Phatt Ghurl at speed!  cooldude And-NO-no fines to plug up the tire air valve. And they are cheaper than balance beads and reusable many times over. RIDE SAFE.

Mine are doing this unfortunately, it's driving me insane. Now my other vast experience with Shinko tires on my V-Strom has been excellent, I run both the 705 and 804/805 with zero issues or complaints.
