Don ( Highbinder ) and I plan on ridin' into Bardstown,Kentucky this coming friday 11-27 to do alittle scouting for the June " The Whiskey Run " . We are meeting at The Loves Travel Center at exit 95 off I-75 in Richmond ,Kentucky just south of Lexington ( 12:00 noon eastern ) . We plan to check on the motel and best roads for the planned ride when folk's join us this June .This area has become famous with its Bourbon Trail. Would love to see the numbers we had last June for " The Blue / Gray Ride " to Gettysburg , Pennsylvania. You folks that joined us then think about coming to " The Whiskey Run " we had a outstanding group of folks from all over  America and Canada on that ride . Anyone wanting to ride off the turkey fat this friday are welcome to come scout the area with us we will be spending the night in Bardstown and should be rollin' in that evening. If you would like to hook up in route let me know or meet us in Richmond at The Loves Travel Center or Bardstown for the over-night...Bring It...LET'S RIDE  Smiley

Thanks Charlene I'm thinking we are going to Heaven Hill Distilleries in June with the recommendations from none other than your husband Mark.I've made a note of Hwy 1510 and we should be able to work it into the ride.... Again Thanks  Smiley

Joe, I may hook up with you guys Friday.  Mapquest shows it as only 95 miles from the house.  Keep the details posted and I'll let you know mid-week.

That would be great Dave it's a " GO " on our end so I hope to see you there. You plan on coming to Richmond at noon or meeting in Bardstown ? Watching the Colts play right now ( its rainin' here ) y'all really lucked out last week with that 4th down call  ???  I did'nt know until today that the Colt fans don't like to be called " Colts " and prefer Indy   Undecided   .... Good luck to Indy my team sucks this year so I'd like to see either the Colts are Steelers make it to the big dance.

I don't mind cool even cold is ok with me as long as its not wet and cold ....I don't follow basketball or baseball for that matter so I'd much rather be on my bike as watching either... Good luck to Kentucky .Forecast calls for highs near 50 ...That's almost perfect  cooldude

Check out 31E unless its outta the way. Its a KY scenic route. Leaves outta Bardstown and goes the back way to Cave City where Mammoth Cave is. Been on it a couple of times. I think it goes by Lincolns birth place.

Joe, if I can make it I will come straight down to Bardstown.  Let me know if you or Don need anything scouted out on the northern end.  I am within 70-150 miles of most of this ride, and will help you guys out any way I can.

I'm not sure how Highbinder plans to route the ride I'm guessing we'll figure that out when we sit down at the motel on friday night.I don't have the motel name at this point Don said he thinks its changed names since he was there. Just look for the Valkyries  cooldude

Dave....the hotel we're looking to stay at is where the Blue Grass Pkwy and 31E cross, I believe it was a Days Inn.....if you're  coming down around Ft. Knox and the Patton Museum you could check that out for us....be good to see ya again....I'm thinking we'll be arriving there around 2-3 pm on friday....

Joe, the wife and I did the Bourbon Trail this summer, you should look into staying at The Old Talbott Tavern in Bardstown. excellent and same price as Days Inn, also haunted!

Not sure.  Undecided They said tonight some sig weather changes for us up here. Gonna be mid 30's with rain/snow mix thurs and fri. I work till 5 but could be there by 10ish fri night. Of coarse all after dark riding.  Embarrassed Sat is nice in upper 40's. Have to be back Sat night. I got Joes and Weavers cell if my winds blow that way. Only 220ish miles.  Sad I hate November.

It's looking like I will be a "no-go" for this run.  We ended keeping the granddaughter overnight tonight as my wife ended up not having to work Friday.  The only time I have available would be Saturday during the day, and you guys will be heading away.  Don and Joe, I will still scout the Patton museum and anything else you need later on this next Spring.  Have a good ride and be safe.

Oops, I didn't watch it. Did a search for the score but must have gotten a 4th quarter score, not a final.
