It's been over 50k since I changed my plugs and I think my girl is due. I called my local auto parts store for some NGK DPR8E's and they don't have them. Does anybody have a good online source for plugs for our Valkyries?

It may make no or little difference, but aren't the 9's just a bit colder than the 8's?

I've never had a problem getting them at the auto parts.

Call a different store. These are very common plugs.

I already bought them and I paid with PayPal and the price was lower than last time I bought them locally I think

But, but these aren't from a Honda dealer. The motorcycle ones cost $6 each. I bet they won't work.   uglystupid2 2funny crazy2

My notes say that for my 2003 Standard I should use DPR7EA-9 (NGK).

owner's manual says to use 7's or 8's, depending on riding conditions.

Those may be what are in mine.  It's been a few years (and lower miles than the past).

I seem to recall reading that between two heat levels (I think 8 & 9) you weren't going to know the difference (and neither was the bike).

owner's manual (page 74), recommended plugs it says for NGK's: standard riding condition dpr7ea - 9, cold climate dpr6ea - 9, extended high speed riding dpr8ea - 9.  I ordered 7s and I don't even know what's in there at the moment probably sevens or eights.

I bought iridiums, for about 3x the price, and will never change them again, unless I get running problems. At which point I still have the good stock plugs, for swapping out and testing.

I reckon they knew what they were doing when they specified those.

Yeah and normally I wouldn't think twice about going another 30 or 40k-- as much as 80 or 90 on a set of plugs--at least on a car and I kind of think of a valkyrie as a two-wheeled Accord anyways. But I changed them out on my other bike which is a V-Twin and it really gave it more pep, but another thing I thought about is my Valk does quite a bit of popping on decel not backfiring but popping and I've heard that can be hard on plugs.
