Cheesy Anyone beside me going to get wrapped up in March Madness? Not only is it the offical month of Spring smitten it is College Basketball's March Madness.   Cheesy  I've enjoyed March Madness since I was a college student at FSU 78-81. Really enjoy watching these young athletes play with the enthusiasm I once had in sports, especially when a couple Cinderella teams advance. Go FSU & UF.  smitten

Growing up, we played all kinds of sports, but never basketball.  In jr hi gym class basketball (the first time I ever played), I got the ball, tucked it under my arm, straight-armed down the floor knocking people down, and slammed it off the backboard back to mid court.  When all the laughing stopped, the gym teacher explained that I was required to bounce the ball when running with it.  This sounded stupid to me as it slows you down.  It also became pretty obvious that basketball was mostly a tall guy's game, and I was never tall.

I do watch from time to time when my college team is doing well, and they are this year.  Not interested in pro ball at all (pretty much like football, which I like 100 times more than basketball).

What irritates me most, is my school has great football teams, but can't beat Ohio State, and great basketball teams, but can't beat Michigan State.
GO BLUE (even though they mostly wear yellow).

I especially like watching Iggy Brazdeikis play, our Big Ten freshman of the year (and he's not even done growing yet).

Bringing this back up.

And pointing out that the Big Ten put 8 teams in the Tournament (more than any other conference), and all but one (Wisconsin) won their first games.  7 of the 32 left are Big Ten.  (Of course, there's 14 teams now, but they're not going to change the conference name to the Big Fourteen; they better not!)

Yes a couple were walkovers, but most were hard fought, and some were underdogs.

Go Wolverines!!  Wink  (or Big Ten)

I watched a little of the UCF/VCU game last night which UCF won. First round for them and they go against Duke tomorrow, doubt they go much farther but who knows.

Purdue beats last year's champ Villanova by 26pts.

Purdue's junior 6'1" guard Carsen Edwards scores 42 points on 12-for-21 shooting, including 9-for-16 3-pointers, and 9 for 9 at the free throw line.  Holy crap.

And speaking of holy crap, have you seen UCF's 7'6" (310lb) Tacko Fall?  Wingspan of 8-foot-4.  Size 22 shoes.

Yeah, shoot the basket little buddy.

Is this a full size basketball?

A no inch vertical leap to the rim.    Shocked

I understand UCF lost to Duke by one point. That's harder to take than getting spanked by 15-20 pts.

Duke had to come from behind to win.

And UCF rolled two more shots off the rim before the buzzer.

How about them Purdue Boilermakers??

This may be be the best game I've ever seen.  Nonstop wall to wall.

Cudos to the Vols.

Both Lesa and her Mom were solid Vols fans. They came from behind to go into overtime but it was not to be. They are still proud of them.
The lady Vols finally have a chance to get a good coach as well as Holly is out as of today I think. Fulmer finally fired her.
