Does this look totaled?

My 2000 I/S that was rear-ended by a Goldwing.......MY DAD'S!!!! At  a stoplight of all places....

Start of a trip from Michigan to the New England States.... First day, almost to Niagra Falls.

This is what it looks like after I replaced all the bent parts, still needs paint touched up... SV modified trunk is in garage hanging on the wall, goes on in 5 min.

I would, but I couldn't but the hardship on you, Wink,  and after all me and Baby have been thru, I plan to have her til' I quit riding, 20 or 30 years.   I had been wanting this bike sine I first saw it in Cycle World back in 99 ish. Bought it at the end of this last June, (sold my 85 Wing of 14 years 3 days later)...wrecked on Sept 15, and had it back on the road by October 10th....now have a few thousand into it........ and a bad back..LOL.

Does it look totaled?  Nope, it looks beautiful.   cooldude   Glad you got her back on the road (and kept another Valkyrie on the road).  Sorry about your back, but really glad you're riding again.

So what's the deal with all this rear-ending going on?  This is what's left of my old Goldwing after it was rear-ended by a Maxima in September.  Check out the Bushtec V.2 hitch and all that busted tupperware!  $22.4K parts & labor repair estimate not including installed accessories and the insurance company wants over $8,500 for "salvage retention".   ???   I guess there won't be any "after" pictures...  Really glad it wasn't my Valkyrie!

It's not truly totaled until the title reads salvage.

Wellll.... between the 2 bikes, the total damage estimates were close to $19k. Dad just got his '04 wing out of the shop a week ago....2 months later! I don't have a "before" picture(dad has one) but it was almost all "tupeprware abuse" on both bikes that ran up the bill. I actually rode the bike home from the repair shop, 20+ miles once myself and the shop had determined it was all mainly cosmetic damage. Somehow when dad got his back it had MORE chrome on it ?!!??!?

But here is what's left of the lower trunk shell......

And the fender

And the case of road rash that still needs to be cleared up.....

So once the snow flies, its coming apart, saddlebag, fairing and radiator cover and off to the paint shop. should have it perfect by the time the snow melts.

And I can't aford to wreck it again....... I wont have any room left on the walls of my garage... Grin

"And I can't aford to wreck it again....... I wont have any room left on the walls of my garage..." I had to add a Loft to hang it all in!  laugh
If you run outta room I can put them pieces back in action...just takes determination!
But seriously I think it's time to Super Valk that ride !  cooldude
