Got this in a email, pretty sweet.

Russia now has #1 fighter plane in the world.. SU-30- Vectored Thrust with Canards...

As you watch this airplane, look at the canards moving along side of, and just below the canopy rail.   The "canards" are the small wings forward of the main wings?  The smoke and contrails provide a sense of the actual flight path, sometimes in reverse direction.

This video is of an in-flight demonstration flown by the Russian's-30MK fighter aircraft.  You will not believe what you are about to see. The fighter can stall from high speed, stopping forward motion in seconds. (full stall). Then it demonstrates an ability to descend tail
first without causing a compressor stall. It can also recover from a flat spin in less than a minute.  These manoeuvre capabilities don't exist in any other aircraft in the world today.. Take a look at the video with the sound up.

This aircraft is of concern to U.S and NATO planners. We don't know which nations will soon be flying the SU-30MK, hopefully China isn't one of them..

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Note: Friends worked with advanced aircraft flight control systems and concepts for many years as an extension of stability control and means of control. Canards and vectored thrust were among many concepts examined to extend our fighter aircraft performance. Neither our current or next generation aircraft now poised for funding & production can in any way match the performance of this Russian aircraft NOW FLYING in any near combat situation. Somehow the bankrupt Russian aircraft industry has out produced our complex politically tainted aerospace industry with this technology marvel. Scratch any ideas of close in air-to-air combat with this aircraft in the future.

I"ve seen that vid before.  Shocked   Amazing plane.    cooldude  I know some Russians that live here.  We (the USA) should never assume that they may not be a potential foe either directly or by proxy in the future.  They may be bankrupt, but they will always put national defense interests ahead of private sector stimulus plans.

Well its a nice plane but we indeed do have a plane that does that and more its even stealthy. The show may not be as nice but you get the idea. The Russian plane is not stealthy doesn't have all weapons enclosed in the bays and I would like to see some speed results. The cost of the plane will also be a deterrent to large scale deployment just like the US military is balking at the price of the Raptor. But with all this said we will see when there will be actual deployment to the forces.

That's what I thought I heard.  BTW the original post was copied from an email, I don't claim all the facts are accurate.

Robert, i got a chance to fly next to a F-22 in the F-16 on my last ride  before I retired. We pulled up next to it and my pilot and the f-22 driver knew each other. He asked if he show me a few manuvers the F-22 could do. We pulled away about 1/8 mile and i saw the pilot put the F-22 on its ass at 40,000 and go stright up. I have never seen any fighter do that in 22 years working with jets. I have seen a lot of things but that took the cake!!. All that low level show off stuff is fine but when you get up were those guys really fight things can change in a heart beat.
