I have not been myself lately and not on-line much, the reason for this is my very good friend and next door neighbor of 9 years Mr. William Masterson (Bill) passed away this past Thur. night. I got the news early Sat. morning from his wife Gloria. There was no funeral but there was a celebration of his life on Sun. afternoon at the Masterson home. Of course I attended but it was not easy for me to be in that house without Bill mulling around. As I talked with Gloria she told me that Bill had picked out all the pictures of him that were on display for all who attended to see and remember him. She said he also picked most of the menu items that she was serving to all who came. This kind of got to me and then she went on to say that he picked out all the music that was playing while we all were there. I just did not know what to say or think. Bill was a fantastic man, husband, dad and good friend to me. We enjoyed playing on the same co-ed softball team for 5 years and the same bowling team for 4 years. He helped me with vehicle problems and listened to all my not so great stories. We shared many a libation together in his or my garage as we told each other of our life events. I will miss all that we shared together and I will miss him deeply. Bill, you will always be a man that I will remember and miss for the rest of my life. Peace and God bless my FRIEND! Until we meet again! Chuck

I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music.

The loss of a friend is hard, but the loss of a good friend is tough to handle. Remember the good times, and he'll always be with you in spirit. My condolences on your loss.

Terrible news but well written post. I admire the man and his wife for the way the celebration of his life was planned and carried out. Condolences from N. Carolina.

I am sorry for your loss... your story was well written and put a lump in my throat. Having good friends with lots of memories makes you rich and your life was made better for having known him.
A good reminder for all of us to keep our dear friends close all the time and appreciate them
God speed to Bill and my condolences to you and to his family.
