Advice needed. I had a 2014 Valkyrie  and sold it in 2017. Mistake! Undecided Now I am looking for another one.
Missed a couple of 2014 Valks in Toronto. Wasn't ready to make a deal. I can't find a 2014 or 2015 near where I am.
Now I am looking for advice about buying a Valk. in the US and having it brought to Canada.
Has anyone had experience in doing this?
Looked into buying a F6B but liked the way my 2014 Valk. handled and the less weight. I no longer ride two up.

You can buy used from U.S., but you will be paying in U.S. dollars, so add about 28% more.  Then there is the taxes based on that amount.  After that, there is the RIV fee of a little over $200.00 and once you have the form, you have to take it in for an "inspection" to ensure it is allowed in Canada.  You should still be able to buy new out of the crate from a Canadian dealer.  I ordered one two years ago and it arrived within a couple of weeks.  I don't know if you would be able to buy new out of the crate from the U.S.  I bought used bikes in the U.S. and filled out the import forms myself, but that was a couple of years ago and I don't know if you are still able to do that, but you should be able to look up an importer on line and find out what they charge.

You can buy new from the US. You just need to find a dealer that will sell to you. The border states won't but if you go to the next ones down then it shouldn't be a problem. I have bought three bikes from the states. There will not be any warranty though.

I talked to a Honda dealer here in London and they didn't seem to know about any new Valkyries in the crate. Maybe I should check elsewhere. I have looked online about importing a motorcycle and the process looks complicated. I am also aware of the exchange rate US to Can $.
I have looked on kijiji and there are a few outwest and I see one in Ottawa.

Spud,
The process takes about 2-3weeks to complete, but it really isn't that complicated.  I sent you some new Valkyries for $8000 usd which is about $11000 cdn.  Well worth it to buy new considering a used one is $15000 cdn.  Although, you could probably get that one here in Ottawa for @$14000 and it does have Corbin bags that are worth @ $2500 cdn.
Like I said, I have brought over 3 bikes so far and it was never a problem.

Hi bscrive
I have seen the bikes you mention for 7,900. in Missouri. Also searching on Google I see the blue 2014
for 15,000$. Could you have a look at this one? Let me know if you think it is worth the money at 14,000$. I would like to have someone on the ground locally to make sure of the purchase.
I'll arrange for transportation.
With the Corbin bags and 8000 KM it looks attractive.
I have been a long time member of VRCC and look at posts there everyday.
I had a 2001 Interstate which was becoming a handfull. Traded it for a Yamaha FJR 1300.
Found it to be too tall and couldn't get my feet flat on the ground while stopped.
Then bought a new 2014 Valkyrie and was very happy. Regretted selling it in 2017.
Long winded post.

I will go and take a look at it for you.  It will probably be Monday, since I am off that day.

I will touch base with the guy.  It looks like it is a private sale and the guy works for the dealership.  I sent him a message to call me.

Dave, there is a red 2014 Valk. for sale in Rhode Island, 3708 miles at Razee Motorcycle Center.  Asking $6995.00, if you're interested.  It was owned by Sleepngbear a moderator on the other site.

There's a black 2015 in Regina on Kijiji with 1500 kms. You could probably get it shipped for around $1000.00 Canadian. Used ones are priced high this time of year. Off season is when you need to pounce!  Wink
