I've owned this bike for 6 years but never had to change the Fog light bulb till now.  Got them changed and was able to re-install the left side (by luck) but just can't seem to get the right side to go on.  Did a lot of searching and can't see to find a video or few steps listing the trick to get them back on.  Is there a trick to the re-install?  Which end do you start with?  Trying not to lose my patience and break them since I've seen what the cost to replace.  Thanks in advance for any help you can provide this Pod install newby.

I usually start at the bottom with that long arm git that one situated then ease the front on. Once in awhile my pods seem to take the notion they do NOT wanna be reinstalled. RIDE SAFE.

I also do it as Dennis suggested. I've done them a dozen times or so, and every time I think I'm going to crack them. Just try a few different slight angle changes and take your time.

The pods are held on with one grommet and 3 (?) screws. So press the grommet section in 1st, then the 3 screws should line up.

And be sure and put the bolts in the place they came from.  if you use the long one in the wrong spot you will punch a hole in the rad.  Ask my brother that's how I know

Been there done that got the bill and a T-shirt.  Lips Sealed My First time round and fergitted ta pay tenshun ta what I wuz doin. 2 long bolts 1 short bolt on each side and the short bolt goes closest to the radiator. Course I know that NOW!  2funny And for good measure you ever take off the timing belt cover get a rather largish piece of cardboard and install bolts into cardboard in sequence. Called learning by experience and once in awhile it Can and Will run into extra bucks.  crazy2 But then ya come away with a tale told round the fire pit with an adult beverage. See-Always an upside!  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

I have also found it easier to install them by removing the rubber fog light garnishes out of the pods before installing the pods. This will give you a little more wiggle room without being in a bind. As everyone else has stated, take your time. Each time I have removed and installed mine it seems like I do it a little different than I did the previous time.

Don't forget you also have to get the ends of the air guide positioned correctly also.  There is a lot going on trying to put a pod back on.

Dan I reinstalled my pods today after syncing the carbs. After seeing your post last week I paid careful attention to how I installed them. I took the rubber garnishes out of the pods before removing the pods from the bike. When installing the pods today I positioned the rear of the pod where it needed to be to connect the push tab & rubber grommet then moved the rest of the pod inward as I pushed the plastic air baffle towards the back to align with the back edge of the opening on the outer face of the pod. As I moved the pod inward in position with the pod lights and threaded mounting tabs I made sure to keep the forward upper part of the pod lifted enough so that it would be positioned on top of the mounting tab, not under it. For some reason the left pod seems determined to end up with the upper mounting ear under the tab unless lifted as I install it.
