It appears they are at it agin. Apparently a bill went thru both houses and is now on governor prince andrew's desk. It appears that the Boy Scouts will no longer be able to offer rifle merit badges. Recently High School trap shooting clubs were attempted to be shut down. The anti gunners are chipping away. Sneaky b&^%(&^s.

(Keep in mind, the Boy Scouts no longer exist, they changed their name to BSA to show their new inclusion of girls as well)

Did a little Googling, looks like this is the bill in question, it has to do with someone under 16 being able to shoot a gun at all if they're out of arm's reach of the owner of the gun...

IMHO, that's the plan. Shut off the ability of the youth to enjoy the shooting sports, and in a generation those kids will be adults that have no experience with firearms, and don't care about defending their right to have and use them.

Proof that there's not a liberal politician in NY with the sense of a dog. The fastest way to get a child or pre-teen to gain access to anything is to "put it up" and tell them they cannot look at it or touch it.

Hopefully this can turn around. I'm not holding my breath though. The times I've helped with a couple of the local high school trap clubs I found it heartening that both the kids and their parents were surprised and how much they all learned and how much they enjoyed themselves. Most of the parents had no idea about the sport and their minds about guns are being changed. I hope there are more folks involved when I get back in the area next week.
