ADMISSION NEW (UNWRAPPED) TOY AND A CASH DONATION
OF $10.00 (OR MORE) PER BIKE

I don't remember a Cash Donation being required? I thought it had always been a

It is not a bad idea, after all, how many kids really want a 3 ft tall dog, bear,(favorite stuffed animal here). I know cheapskates that go to dollar store and buy these toys. They drink more beer than they spend for a children's charity.

Would you just look at all them two wheelers! Maybe Tigger will chime in? Valk folks are usually welcomed to help with traffic control. Got the inside track on any of that for this year, Serk? ~Jeff

Wanderer - Haven't heard anything about it yet for this year, hopefully Tigger will come by and give us an update...

The toy AND cash thing has put me off just a bit, to be honest... But we'll see what happens...

I spoke to Gene(Ft. Worth Coordinator). The reason for the change is this, for many years, some people( too many to count) have strapped on a toy to their bike and left it there(did not take it into the convention center) this has been verified by Toy Run staff.  the amount of counted bikes from both locations has not added up to the amount of toys collected.  I have seen this myself and wondered what was the deal.  Also, it's $10 and a toy per bike, so if u are going 2 up you're still coming out cheap. Most people probably spend more at Starbucks for a latte then they spend on toys!   FYI Tigger is living in Oklahoma, has been for a long time now. He moved to Marietta. He is not on the staff of the Toy Run anymore. He still has the same email( i think,) but we have not heard from him.  Also, there is NO Grapevine this year, the businesses don't want a bunch of bikers ruining their Christmas sales! this has also been verified by Gene Long.  Shocked

Sad to say... I have seen riders at the Collin County toy run ride off with their toys afterwards also....

However, in defense of one in particular, he brought (if memory serves me, and I am probably wrong) 69 new teddy bears, but took his old bears back home

if memory serves me, it has always been a new toy. also if they toy is used, they have a difficult time finding a home for it. if kids have allergies, etc. there are a ton of reasons for a new toy for the kidos.
