I want to put a headlight kill switch on my 99 IS. Might save me one day if battery is low. Where is the best place to put one?  Would rather not cut wires if possible.

If that day comes, it might be a lot easier to just pull the fuse.

Best way would be to put the headlight on a relay powered of the battery directly.  That would save your starter switch and allow you to put a switch on the trigger power to the relay.

I installed a sw that cuts the blue-wh wire which feeds into the hi-lo sw, and is used downstream to also trigger the relays for the spots and the relays for the headlight.  Just for the occasions when I need to power the engine but not waste power on the big lights.  Or if the battery is low, having alternator problems.  This happened when my alternator was failing per the volt readout as I was almost home from the Roanoke Inzane. Saved fixing the problem until after I was home.  Sw location doesn't help much on your IS install but might help another with a Std/Tour.  I wanted it to be reachable while riding so I can sw the lights off away from traffic but on when safety/visibility is needed. Look close below the turn signal bezel.

The interstates already have a relay saving the starter switch.

Thanks all. Anyone got a link to a wiring diagram? Rattlebars didn't work.

Rattlebars site is gone.  Did anyone save any of that information?
