I was riding to work this morning when it sounded like I blew a valve on teh highway.

After pulling over (getting my heart under control) it turns out that the rear desmog plug on the right side cylinder head was missing and the noise was coming from there.

Covering the hole removed the (but I can't ride around with my finger in it all the hole all teh time - I am *NOT* that flexible).

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks

The freeze plug size is 14 MM and the Dorman part # is 555-092. I just called my Brother da prez cuz I couldn't recollect the size off the top of my gourd. Ross Just happened to be in his shop when i called and pulled a box of em from his stock. RIDE SAFE.

Did you do the desmog yourself? Have the removed parts around? Make your own from the metal tubs removed. Just make sure you use a clamp to hold it on the bike.

Check your other 3 to make sure they all have the "clamp" holding them in place.

I just did mine, and have 2 removed OEM clamps, left over, as the kit came with 4 replacements.

Yea I did the desmog myself about 6 years ago ... used teh 1st generation kit that did not come with the extra clamps & spacers.

And oh yea -- I moved last November and I am *STILL* unpacking boxes!!!.... original parts are somewhere Sad

I filled the holes with steel epoxy then install a shorten 9/16" hex head full thread bolt. don't even need to tap the hole. then just paint the bolt head to match cylinder head.
