Here I am tonight sitting in Deming, NM.  This is my 11th day on my way to Inzane, the 10th day tagging along with Bruce, and I am still trying to get my head around my great fortune.

In January I was thinking that Inzane XIX was out of my reach.   There were a few things standing in my way.  Any one of them would be enough to absolutely nix my going.  Then Bruce offered to let me tag along with him on a round about trek to Inzane.  Hmm, that might allow me to work around a medical issue that I was concerned about.  And what novice motorcycle trekker could resist an opportunity to tag along with a seasoned veteran motorcycle trekker, let alone such a renowned traveler?  I was hooked!  .... if only a few other details could be worked out.  I set to work trying to eliminate my other obstacles.  Then other things needed done too, commitments to be met.  Finally, I was ready and bid my ado to Mural.

Our tentative plan to head northwest from central Tennessee fell all apart, but the overall concept of our plan, dancing with the weather and making time for whimsical detours, remains intact.  In fact, we are no where near where we had thought we would be but we are touring through some most awesome scenery and interesting places.  Who would have thought that it would be this cool in the south in late May?  but it is!

This trip so far has not been all play. ........ well, for me it has, but Bruce has spent countless hours studying possible routes and the predicted weather for those routes and then other routes that might present more favorable weather.........and the timing to make it all work out for the most awesome experience.  So far, Bruce has done an absolutely amazing job at this in spite of the constantly changing predictions.  Mother weather has been very busy washing and watering most of this nation and meanwhile, Bruce has led me on a very skillful dance around almost all of that rain (the only exception being the very first day when we were still focused on the Badlands).  He has even sidestepped us, at the last minute, around hailstorms and tornados.

One of the great benefits of traveling with Bruce is the little side roads I would never have considered but that hold easy pleasant riding and/or gorgeous spectacular views.

I am having the time of my life!  I saw a billboard sign today that read “live your dream!”.  I am!  Not only am I taking a long lazy ride around this nation and to Inzane, but I am doing so with a very skillful and knowledgeable tour guide.   I cannot believe my good fortune.

See you in Taos.

Thanks Rob.
My medications have been adjusted a couple of times since last summer and that seems to have eliminated my heat intolerance problem.  Everything has just opened up to make this trip possible for me.  I am so lucky!

good luck comes to good people ! I will have to admit, it must be pretty awesome traveling with Bruce. Easygoing, knows more roads than Rand McNalley, and just an all around good dude !
