I have been riding a Vulcan 750 for the past year an half and love it  I love the looks and sound of the Valkerie.  Am wondering how the Valkerie handles for in-town riding as I ride my bike daily and is my primary transport even though I have a car.

I am 72 years old but in good shape/health. Been riding since I was 21 with a 40 year break except for a few stolen rides on my kids/brothers bikes now and then.

This is my first post. Thanks for feedback....
WWicker/ San Antonio

PS Anyone seen that post on Craigs list for the 98 Valk w/ 17000 miles for $3850?
I believe it is a scam, but I am changing emails with the guy until I know for sure.
The bike is in Indiannapolis at a DAS Terminal awaiting shipment. The seller is in AZ. His name is Walter Lebron. The bike is black / lightgreen.

There's a couple of Valks in our Classifieds in TX.  One in Fort Worth and the other in Garland.  If you post on the TX VRCC Board, I'm sure someone near you will let you drool over theirs and maybe even ride it.  Welcome to the family.

Marty

Edited because my fingers won't do what they're supposed to.

People are more passionately opposed to wearing fur than leather because it's safer to harass rich women than bikers.

Regarding the bike........... 100% guaranteed scam... betcha the guy is in Eastern Europe somewhere.  tell him that something has come up and by chance you have to go to Indianapolis next week and want to stop and look at the bike, his reply will be that it is all crated and they won't allow people to look at it, tell him you likely want it and will meet him there with cash so you can save some freight and he will say that the freight is already arranged etc. etc. etc.

Look at the classified section of this website and you will see legitimate bikes for sale and their associated prices. Also you have a better chance of getting a bike that has been maintained.

Welcome to the site !!  Craigslist works well if you can find something locally and go to see it. That's how I found mine ....    I used to have an '83 GL1100 prior to my Valk and to be honest with ya I thing it has better low speed manners than the '83 did.  Be careful thou cause these Valk's have a ton of power and you won't want to get off the darn thing   cooldude

In town handling is easy, the hardest part is getting the Valkyrie upright off of the standard side stand.
And that is really not that hard.

If you keep the Valkyrie balanced you should have not have a problem, but it is heavier than your bike.
So if it gets tilted to far it does take some muscle strength to return to upright.

Low gear in the Valkyrie makes it really easy to move very slow with out riding the clutch.

Good luck, Pete.

Buy a Valk and ride it as long as you can, then Trike her and ride her til you rot.
I triked my 2001 IS due to back trouble and love it even more.
