Polyurethane Shock bushings part #

Having recently purchased another Valk. I am swapping out the shocks, for another pair of better looking (cosmetically) Honda Shocks. I want to replace the bushings on them before installing.

Does anyone have a part number, and or comparible source for a set of Polyurethane busings.?
Also, my (mainland Valk) has progressive shocks, and saw some urethane bushings for those on Ebay

Anybody used these, do they fit on the Progressive Valk shock's. I should probably do both bikes.

VTX bushings that work with 1500 Valkyries: Honda 52489-HN0-671

Last much longer than OEM Valkyrie bushings.

Thanks, I just saw a utube video on the 1300 bushing change, and looked those up. I found them a tad expensive, I thought I saw a price of $18.01 ea. I COULD  have been mistaken, but really 18. Ea.

Thanks for that part number, yes these would be good. $2.95 ea. @ Bike Bandit, ...... unfortunately, they want to charge me $19.00 for shipping to put them in a plastic bag. Seems this is always my problem when living here in the islands, and trying to buy other than Ebay.

The part number listed by Gryphon Rider is about $2.50 at partzilla.

Progressive shocks come with metallic bushings, that doesn't mean
they never need changed, but yours are probably good, you might want
to look first...

Re: Progressive shocks. I lost a U joint while touring in Asheville, NC, and had to change it out, a d took a close look at them , From my memory, they have a metal sleeve surrounded by the donut bushing, and my upper looked like it could use a change.



 One of my problems, having a bike on the mainland to fly in and use, is that you have to have really good memory to recall all the nuances you notice, along with meticulous note taking,  (or both), as you don't get to walk around it, and do the little stuff. As when you do fly in, your pretty amped to just start loading gear, circling map routes, and trying to get yourself somewhere out on the open road, where they have some new micro beer, you've never tried.

Vtx crowd are using nylon bushings. they get them cheap from mcmaster carr.
I found that a trailer spring uses same size, however they have to be cut in half to fit the shocks.

one I saw was metal. from some research metal pounds the frame and shock bolt and is only recommended for race use and usually those parts need re-enforcement.

found this were nylon is not a good choice. high grade Polyurethane is the best choice.
"Polyurethane is an elastomer in the rubber family; it is not a plastic. We specifically exclude the use of plastics and nylons in all of our motor mounts and suspension bushings. Through our research and testing, we’ve come to the conclusion that plastic and nylon are not suitable for use in either of these locations, due to these materials’ lack of memory. By this, we mean that if plastic or nylon is compressed, it does not return to its original size; polyurethane does have this memory. Also, plastics and nylons have a shorter life expectancy than any urethane, especially the hardest compound polyurethanes."
