Our State was in an awful drought, and our prayers for moisture were answered in a big way last winter. Climate scientists were saying this was exacerbated by the drought, as the suffering trees were much more vulnerable to attack and less able to defend against the effects. I'm hoping this will at least slow the pace of the voracious little bastards.
I worked the forest in WY back in the early 80's, there was a major Bark Beetle attack then. It was due to several years a warmer winters and dry years. Then we had several years a really cold winters, beetle attack stopped. Not climate change, just weather.
Glad to hear that CO has the snow pack, like said above, Lake Mead needs some water.
