I'm in the market for a new recliner. The one in my living room won't stay closed (and can't be fixed), so I turned it over and tied it closed (with a handful of zip-ties). No more Lazy-boy because they fall apart in 3 years (multiple times). I was looking at Costco, and look what I found (a little more than I need). How can you be sure it's not a transformer, and after you get it home it turns into Optimus Prime? https://www.costco.com/Osaki-OS-3D-Pro-Cyber-Massage-Chair.product.100089701.html I'll keep looking.

Watched a movie called "Idiocracy"? One of those bad comedies that strangely good. Anyway, in the movie, there is a similar chair used but it is also a toilet. All the people do is watch tv and never have to get off the chair.

I am really interested in any advice or feedback.
There's a bunch of (electric) powered recliners out now, and all I can think of is that's just another thing to go wrong. And I am in and out of my chair all the time and don't like the idea of waiting for the slow motion movement.
On the other hand, all my past recliners have broken in the scissors reclining mechanism, and maybe I'm too hard on that.

We went looking for new chairs in 2017 because the straight back chairs we were using were not that comfortable. We ended up purchasing two of these. Stressless Garda Classic chair http://stressless.kudosfurnishing.com/products/view/stressless-garda-classic-chairThe drawback is they are expensive. The good news is they are very comfortable and just recline and swivel. No levels to push, just lean back. The headrest also can be rotated to a full reclining position. It automatically goes back to normal position when you sit upright in the chair. They have an "elevator" ring you can add to chair and footstool if you need some additional height. We went to a furniture store and began "sit" testing all the chairs, straight back and recliners. When I sat in this one, it was like "Yeah!!" They are made in Sweden.

Well, little did I know there was a really high end furniture store maybe 2 miles from my house, specializing in American made leather. Never been there, didn't know it existed. I went over to kick chairs. And picked up a Hancock & Moore 3032 Austin new for a quarter of retail. It was discontinued and he wanted it gone, and it is now in front of my widescreen. I borrowed one of his guys for $40, took it home in my Promaster, moved it in, moved one from basement to living room, and living room beater is now in the Promaster where it will stay as my traveling sleeper, or go to the junk yard (but not the deck). Happy, happy!

if you are happy that is all that matters. leather is not for me too hot in summer and sticky but can be comfy I guess. Are the arms up high enough on that leather chair to be comfy?
I prefer lazyboy recliners are the best and most comfy in the business that I have seen and tried out and am only on my second one in past 25 years just got rid of my 20+ year old one a few years ago and still had some life left in it sold it for 50 bucks to someone paid around 500 bucks each for them new. I am in mine 90% of the time watching TV while at home in living room vs. couch, even fall asleep on it often at night dozing off from 10 to 2 a.m. in morning are so comfy, but also so tired easy to fall asleep watching TV as I get older late at night.

Cookie, every single Lazy-boy I ever owned broke in the reclining mechanism or back in a few years. Like 4 (expensive) pieces. The sleeper sofa didn't break, the only one that didn't. It fits me fine. But I'm 5'9" 190. I wish it was a high back, but have been using small pillows for my head (while reclined watching TV) for years, and will continue. Leather is nice, and lasts if you take care of it. I didn't go looking for leather, but the deal was too good to pass up. No more TV watching buck naked though. Not that I did a lot of that.
