Well, it's almost here...Valhalla 2019!! Looking forward to seeing old friends again,  welcoming some first time attendees, and meeting some new friends as well  this year in Merritt. To date there's 21 rooms booked and we estimate about 30-35 folks in total. Advanced weather forecast is somewhat varied, depending on which site you check out...I'm going with the Environment Canada site which seems more optimistic than AccuWeather ....at least today. Looks like it will be similar to last year...a little rain here and there but for the most part on Friday and Saturday pretty decent. Make sure to load up as much rain gear, bike covers, etc as possible, as we all know the more room we take up with this stuff,  the less likely we'll need it!

T-shirts...for those that pre-ordered, I believe I got all the numbers and sizes right....cost is 12.00 for short sleeve and 16.00 for long sleeve. There should be about 5 or 6 extra total in L and XL. for those who didn't order and wish to purchase one .
Don't forget to bring a gift (under $20) to participate in the Saturday gift exchange (doesn't have to be mc-related) and lots of stories (exaggerations,  downright lies , etc  are all OK) to tell around the fire in the evenings.

For first time attendees, please be sure to check in at the hotel under the Valhalla Valkyrie group, as your room rate includes breakfast at the restaraunt. There will be parking cones towards the far end of the parking lot for our group set up early afternoon Thursday, and banners (depending when my MUCH older American Cuz arrives from Spokane  Wink). I'll try to have agendas for everyone available upon check in. The rides on Friday and Saturday are very casual...Gord V's previous link gave several options, and everyone is welcome to take off together, or go off in different groups .

Special note to our friends from Idaho who may not have been up here in a while...speed limit signs that say 100 or 120 are in KILOMETERS per hour...not miles per hour.  police  Just follow Steve H. on the  White Wing...he's plenty fast enough , has a good radar detector and a bionic deer whistle Wink

Safe travels all....see you in Merritt sometime  on Thursday... cooldude cooldude cooldude

Now you tell us... been riding up there for years... but that doesn't really apply to the Valkyries does it?

Redline .... I think they are just suggestions that are intended to keep everyone safe in typical Canadian winter white out conditions  Wink. Although, I have come across some law enforcement officers police who can't take a joke  Roll Eyes.

I am a little bit behind schedule in getting the bike ready . Today , I attempted to match wits with a chipmunk that got into my garage  Embarrassed. After 4 hours of hide and seek , complete with a total destruction of my garage layout and virtually everything moved out into the driveway , the little bugger cornered me in one end of the garage sorting through a pile of steel while he ate my lunch in the other corner. tickedoff  Having totally humiliated me, he sauntered out of the garage and disappeared in the shrubs . Now that I have moved everything back into the garage, I can't help but wonder if he rode back in on one of the pieces of equipment . Undecided

This morning it dawned on me that the BC board was probably the place for the latest in Valhalla discussions, so here I am.  I am anticipating much of Thursday will be riding in the rain for Emily (teenage daughter) and me, so if you can round up some extension cords so everyone can use the hair dryers from their rooms to dry us off when we arrive, that would be awesome!

I would like to call dibs on one of the spare XL t-shirts.  I don't think a L or XL would fit Emily, unless she uses it as a night shirt.

I just fired up my Valk last night for the first time this season, and was happy that it started with about a second of cranking.  I topped up tire air pressure and rode it to work this morning and all seems well, so all I have to do is wash off the winter dust, pack it, and roll out Thursday morning with our rain suits on.

I wouldn't worry about getting wet in the Caraboo. It's a semi arid desert. 10-20 minutes after the rain, most things are dry. Crackers don't get stall if left unwrapped.

Just remember we have a pool on site, so don't forget the swimming attire.

I haven't heard of any wild fires, so I expect no smoke.

Mike, I'll be meeting up with George at Timmies on 200 St & Hwy 1 south of Holeshot, then over to your house for before 10 am. Then we're all off to Merritt. This should give George a short break off the bike.

Great Gord, nice to have George along for the ride up as well. Buffalo Bob from Seattle will also be meeting us at my place for the run up to Merritt. If Dusty sees this he can meet up with us as well, depending on his  arrival on the mainland from abroad  ...

The plan right now is the 7:00 A.M. ferry  from abroad and some kind of a convoluted route to Merritt. I may run thru Whistler and Lytton  or Princeton  and North  from there. Weather  will control the route and the timing.
