I'm getting ready to change my rear tire/service the rear end by myself for the first time and want to make sure I have everything I need.  I have the tire, tire o-rings, valve stems, dynabeads, grease and gear oil.  The manual also says I need to get a stopper ring and a seal for the drive shaft.  Am I missing anything?

You mat also want to replace the thrust washer in the final drive and the crush washer under your drain plug.

What is the thrust washer?  I'm looking at the manual and I don't see anything listed as a "thrust washer" in the instructions or the drawings.

It is under the final driven flange. Very thin and maybe stuck to the flange in the grease. I wipe mine clean and reuse because I never remember to order one.

Look at the parts at HDL they are about $4.00.

Dave,

You may want to have a set of dampers on hand in case yours are getting sloppy, and rear brake pads are easier to change when the rear wheel is off.  Also, a lot of us keep rear wheel bearings on hand in case the ones in the bike are needing replaced.  The thrust washer is part #42616-MAJ-G20.  The thrust washer is plastic, but you may be able to reuse yours if not chewed up too bad.  Good luck, and take care of that blue bike of mine.
