I live on and island, 100 miles long, I am comfortable with loosing a couple miles to the gallon, if that, depending on how hard you ride., My other Valk is on the Mainland, and then Yes, might be a decision on how much MPG you loose. I have had a couple times where I coast into the station on fumes in the back country.

I've used them and they worked OK. I put on glass packs, Interstate ICM and carb springs. Dyno tests showed 2 extra HP. My needles were on the 2nd notch down from the top. Dyna Jet suggests 3rd notch down.

"Why are you wanting to Use this?"
I am not sure at this point I will use them. I just bought this Valk, and am going through the bike, doing maintenance and cosmetic stuff. Soon here, will be changing out the timing belt cover, and checking the belt, tensioner, and will change over to a trigger wheel, and wanted some feedback on these jet kits. My mainland bike is set up for long cross country trips. Here on Maui, this bike will be short island rides, so a little more response and acceleration is worth considering if you are going to do some carb work anyway. So far, it doesnt sound like the kit makes a signifcant differance.

My latest ('99 CA model) Tourer came with a set of Cobra 6x6 pipes, which were swapped for a set of unmodified stockers.
When I R&R'ed the carbs due to a fuel-rail leak I checked the needles, jets and so forth. As purchased from the previous owner, the slow jets are #38s and the jet needles are Cobras - probably from their jet kit. All of these were retained.
The other mods that were done are swapping the ICM for an I/S unit and carb springs for the I/S parts. Airbox, cams (CA versions) and trigger wheel are stock.
YMMV. Mine's around 38-42MPG @ freeway (75MPH) speeds; this with a Memphis Batwing and I/S trunk attached.

OK, just to educate me, what is the point of swapping out the ICM, standard vs. Interstate. Is it the mileage? , does the interstate advance the timing, thus slightly better mileage? It appears to me, that both my mainland bike, and this newly acquired one, get 37 mpg. I haven't done the whole scientific measurement yet, i.e. 40 PSI tire pressure, clean Air filter etc. But surfice to say, 37. And my mainland bike is a tourer, with bags, and a Corbin trim tab fairing

Ok I'm still a valk noob but the ICM helps you rev up faster, up to 3k RPM (after that its normal)... there's no "delay" or "hesitation" when you open the throttle, and the RPM will be about .3-.5 higher than normal up to 3k RPM You definitely want to do it, I bought the Jersey mod one with a dial and the difference between turning it on and off is pretty drastic.

I have paper copy of I/S which has a faster advance to 3k rpms and stays at that advance until about 5200 rpms. The std/tourer doesn't hit the same advance until about 4200 rpms.

OK, I like that, I'm in as far as that mod goes. Sounds like I need two of them , since my mainland bike ids a tourer, and this one a standard. So, now that we all agree, that swapping the ICM is a good thing, I'm guessing, we all want one, and they sell 10 minutes after they are listed . LoL. That would be a good mod, for my island bike. How do the interstate ICM do with the trigger wheel upgrade?
UPDATE: Oh My, just bought fhe interstate ICM on ebay. Sounds lime too good of and upgrade to pass up on.

no more than 4 degree TW. modifying the OEM is best, u just have to file the center tab. search the tech section for how much.
